In today’s “Picture of the day” we bring you an artistic black and white photo of France’s Dunkirk LNG import terminal taken from a beach nearby the EDF-operated facility in the port of Dunkirk.

Dunkirk LNG terminal, one of Europe’s newest LNG import facilities, started commercial operations on January 1 this year and has since then received five cargoes of the fuel.

The terminal has a regasification capacity of 13 billion cubic meters per year. Unsold capacity currently amounts to 3 bcm.

It is owned and operated by Dunkerque LNG, a company 65 percent owned by France’s EDF, 25 percent by Belgium’s Fluxys and 10 percent by French Total.
