Tekmar has been awarded a contract by VBMS to supply its 7th generation of TekLink cable protection system, bellmouths, cover disks and hang-offs on Blyth offshore wind farm.

The 66kV wind farm is wholly owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and is being built by EDF Energy Renewables.

Nexans will supply the cable which will be installed along with the CPS by VBMS in the summer of 2017.

The CPS, bellmouths, cover disks and hang-offs will be manufactured in Tekmar’s production facility in the North East of England, closely located to the actual wind farm site in Blyth.

Jack Simpson , head of offshore wind sales at Tekmar said, “The Blyth offshore wind farm, being the first 66kv project is particularly significant for Tekmar, and the industry as a whole. This may mark a new standard moving forward, helping further reduce the overall cost of energy.”
