Van Dam Joins East Anglia ONE Team

Dutch fire and blast protection specialist Van Dam BV has been awarded a contract for the design, engineering, fabrication and installation supervision of the internal and external fire rated walls, wall penetrations, and doors for the East Anglia ONE offshore substation platform.

Dutch fire and blast protection specialist Van Dam BV has been awarded a contract for the design, engineering, fabrication and installation supervision of the internal and external fire rated walls, wall penetrations, and doors for the East Anglia ONE offshore substation platform.

Van Dam will be supplying more than 3000 m2 of Generation IV sandwich wall panels, over 400 penetrations and more than 50 doors for the newly built platform.

Fabrication of the offshore substation is being carried out by Navantia in Puerto Real, Spain and Iberdola, the owner and developer of the 714MW wind farm, is involved in the engineering and design of the substation.

East Anglia ONE covers an area of ​​about 300 km2 and is located approximately 45 km southeast of the town of Lowestoft.

The wind farm will consist of 102 Siemens 7MW turbines and the offshore substation, scheduled for commissioning in 2018.
