Australian engineering company Monadelphous has secured new construction and fabrication contracts with a combined value of approximately $170 million.

The company on Monday said it had secured a new contract with JKC Australia LNG for structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works for the completion of the gas turbine generators and the associated steam piping of the combined cycle power plant at the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities in Darwin.

The Ichthys LNG development is a multi-billion dollar project to develop the Ichthys gas and condensate field discovered in the Browse Basin approximately 220 kilometers off the north-west coast of Western Australia.

Additionally, Monadelphous’ China-based fabrication business, SinoStruct, has been awarded a contract to supply approximately 7,000 tonnes of structural steel, plate work and conveyers to Kiewit Corporation.

As previously reported, Monadelphous was awarded a subcontract for structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation work for Kawasaki Heavy Industries on the cryogenic tanks at the Ichthys Project Onshore LNG Facilities in Darwin in mid-June.

Also, the company last month secured a long-term offshore maintenance services contract for the Ichthys project.
