Jan de Nul has taken delivery of its multipurpose vessel Adhémar de Saint-Venant, following the completion of sea trials in the Yellow Sea.
As from next week, the vessel will be heading for its first project, the EPCI Kriegers Flak OSS project in Denmark, Jan de Nul informed through social media.
The company, in cooperation with Iemants, secured the contract to construct, install, ballast and protect gravity based foundations (GBF) for the Kriegers Flak project.
Jan De Nul is in charge of the design, construction, transport and installation of the GBFs, whereas Iemants will take care of the detailed design, fabrication and transportation of the steel shafts and decks which will be placed on top of the GBFs.
The Kriegers Flak, a 600 MW offshore wind farm in the Danish Baltic Sea, consists of 2 sections, each with its own substation.
Kriegers Flak A, the west section, will have a total capacity of 200 MW. The east section, Kriegers Flak B, will have a total capacity of 400 MW.
The GBFs are planned to be installed offshore by the end of 2017, while the wind farm is expected to become operational by 2022.
