Waves4Power has signed an agreement with the Norwegian company Stryvo Group for full-scale series production of its new wave energy system.
The manufacturing of Waves4Power’s ‘Next Generation’ wave energy device is expected to being in spring 2018, the company informed.
As reported earlier , the production site will be the former shipyard at Fiskåholmen in the municipality of Vanylven on the Norwegian west coast.
Ulf Lindelöf , CEO at Waves4Power, said: “We are very pleased with Stryvo’s offer of a suitable production site and resources for our new wave energy system ‘Next Generation’ of our wave power system.”
Jostein Boe , CEO at Stryvo Group, added: “We are ready to start production as soon as the ‘Next Generation’ leaves the drawing board and are aiming at spring 2018.”
The Norwegian company Stryvo Group supplies products, structures and process systems for, among others, the oil and gas, maritime, renewable energy and construction industries.
Waves4Power is a Swedish company that has developed the WaveEL wave energy device which produces electricity by using hydraulic pump connected to the accumulator that feeds a hydraulic motor with a generator, which in turn converts the hydraulic pressure to electric power.
The full-scale demonstration system was redeployed early in May at the Runde test site, off Norwegian coast, for another round of trials. One month after redeployment, the device started feeding electricity to Norwegian grid.
