RAG, Austrian exploration, production and gas storage company has started construction of the country’s first LNG-fueling station on Thursday, July 6.
The company adds that the move comes in support a wider use of liquefied natural gas as fuel for heavy-duty transport.
RAG said in its statement that the facility is being built in Ennshafen to cover the demand of transport companies.
The company added that the facility, being developed Chart Ferox, will have a single storage tank with a 32 cubic meters capacity and a maximum capacity to fuel 25 trucks per day.
The company has already been using an LNG-fueled truck from Iveco, since April while more such trucks are expected to be delivered a number of customers by September 2017.
RAG expects the LNG-fueling station to be completed and opened in September 2017, in line with the deliveries of LNG-fueled trucks.
