A2SEA’s jack-up Sea Installer has, together with DONG Energy and Siemens Wind Power, installed 23 out of 91 Siemens 6MW turbines on the 576MW Race Bank offshore wind farm off North Norfolk, UK.

The vessel loaded the first turbine components at the Port of Hull and installed the first turbine at the site some 17 miles off Blakeney Point in early May.

The wind farm produced its first power and started feeding it to the grid mid-May.

DONG Energy’s Race Bank is expected to be fully commissioned in 2018.

Construction of Race Bank is being managed from DONG Energy’s construction base in the Grimsby Fish Docks.

The project update follows a decision by DONG and Siemens to sell full ownership of A2SEA to GeoSea, part of DEME Group.
