VIDEO: Dare County Beach Nourishment Continues

In the Town of Kitty Hawk, crews with Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company have completed the nourishment activities in the area between the town’s southern boundary and Tateway Rd.

According to Dare County latest video update, crews from the Liberty Island dredge are working south from the pipe landing site located near White St towards the area completed from the Helgs St pump site.

In the Town of Kill Devil Hills the areas between the town’s northern boundary and Helga St, 1st Street and the project’s southern boundary, have been completed, reports the county.

The Dodge and Padre Island dredges are currently working from the pipe landing located near 2nd Street south towards the area completed near the Landing Avenue pump site. Once completed, the contractor will flip the pipe at the 2nd Street sub line and continue north.

Dare County has just released this beach nourishment update, highlighting the activities currently ongoing in Kill Devil Hills and other communities on the Outer Banks.
