Japan’s Inpex will set up a Gas Business Development Unit as it looks to strengthen its LNG and natural gas marketing functions.
As part of the Global Energy Marketing Division, with effect from August 1, the unit will work on the company’s goal to strengthen the gas supply chain that links its Ichthys LNG project and other natural gas assets outside of Japan with the natural gas market in Japan.
The unit will also seek to strengthen Inpex’s gas marketing functions also in Asia and elsewhere where demand for LNG and natural gas is expected to grow.
The establishment of the Gas Business Development Unit follows the company’s establishment of a dedicated LNG trading unit , last month.
