Venture Global LNG named former vice president of development at Total, Tom Earl, as its chief commercial officer.
With a focus on developing global LNG business, Earl represented Total in the company’s expansion into new liquefied natural gas markets, including international LNG terminal projects.
Previously at Total, Earl represented the company in its US LNG liquefaction transactions from 2012 to 2015. Before that, he was head of electricity trading at Total where he led a significant expansion into newly opened power markets across Europe.
The company is looking to develop projects totaling 30 million tons of LNG production through its two facilities.
The 10 mtpa Venture Global Calcasieu Pass facility is located at the intersection of the Calcasieu ship channel and the Gulf of Mexico, while the 20 mtpa Venture Global Plaquemines LNG facility is placed in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
