Acta Marine informed today, 20 July, that its walk-to-work construction support vessel Acta Orion is providing accommodation and walk-to-work for Siemens on DONG Energy’s Race Bank offshore wind farm.
Siemens is currently installing and commissioning 91 of its 6MW turbines, with the work planned to be completed before end of the year. The vessel is used by the turbine supplier to accommodate up to 60 technicians carrying out commissioning and testing duties as well as performing O&M duties on the installed turbines.
Acta Orion has been active on the project since May and will be occupied until mid-November 2017.
Earlier this month, A2SEA’s jack-up Sea Installer, together with DONG Energy and Siemens teams, installed one quarter of total number of turbines.
The 576MW Race Bank is expected to be fully commissioned in 2018. Construction of the offshore wind farm is being managed from DONG Energy’s construction base in the Grimsby Fish Docks.
