Explosive ordnance risk mitigation expert Bodac has collaborated with ECS Special Projects to design an underwater mine disposal system.

According to the company, the system retains all the main characteristic of the Cobra mine disposal system, and meets DEF Standards, International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATG), International Mine Action Standards (IMAS), Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines.

With this system Bodac said it can conduct underwater render safe procedures, recovery or disposal of explosive ordnance (EO) in a safe, cost and time efficient manner.

Auke van der Velde , EOD manager BODAC B.V., said: “We started the process of development 8 months ago together with ECS Special Projects Ltd. Operations director Steve Randall and his team were highly motivated and brought the end product to the next level in an efficient manner producing a new generation underwater disposal system for dealing with remnants of war. “
