The Hungarian Gas Transport Cluster Association (MGKKE), said the cornerstone for the first LNG-fueling station in Hungary has been set.
As part of the PAN-LNG project, MGKKE said four more LNG stations will be developed along the country’s main highways.
The construction is expected to be completed in September 2017, meaning it will be possible to fuel with LNG from autumn, with the investment totalling €1.2 million ($1.4 million) with 85 percent sourced from the EU.
The PAN-LNG project has been declared eligible for the funding of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
The primary goal of the project is to prepare the domestic construction of the infrastructure required for the development of LNG-based transportation, to actually build the first filling stations, and to manage their supply.
Henrik Domanovszky , president of the MGKKE and coordinator of the PAN-LNG project, said LNG-Tech is responsible for the technical details of the construction of the public LNG and CNG filling station.
