Danish oil company Maersk Oil has posted a new video on its YouTube channel, showing the completion and installation of the jackets for the central processing facility (CPF) platform and the utilities and living quarters (ULQ) platform on the Culzean field in the UK North Sea.

Less than two years after the project was sanctioned , Maersk Oil last week progressed the project over the halfway mark, as previously reported by Offshore Energy Today.

The installation of central processing facilities (CPF) and the utilities and living quarters (ULQ) jackets was completed on July 20, while the wellhead platform (WHP) jacket was installed last year. All three jackets were built by Heerema and installed using the Heerema Marine operated crane vessel; the Thialf.

The Culzean field lies approximately 145 miles east of Aberdeen and is estimated to produce between 60,000-90,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) at plateau production and produce for at least 13 years.

Maersk Oil is the operator of the field with 49.99% interest, and its co-venturers are BP (Britoil) with 32% and JX Nippon with 18.01% interest.
