Feedgas deliveries to Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction terminal in Louisiana, currently the only such a facility to ship U.S. shale gas overseas, reached record highs in July.
Natural gas pipeline deliveries to Sabine Pass averaged 2.19 Bcf/d in July, 3% higher than the previous monthly record of 2.12 Bcf/d set in April, the Energy Information Administration said in its weekly report citing data by Point Logic Energy.
Several reports suggest that this was due to the fourth Sabine Pass liquefaction train coming online in the previous month.
Train 4 is expected to reach substantial completion in November, Cheniere said earlier this year.
Cheniere is developing up to six trains at Sabine Pass with each train expected to have a capacity of about 4.5 million tons per annum.
The Sabine Pass plant exported in total 15 LNG cargoes in July, according to the previous weekly reports by the US agency and ship-tracking data.
Sabine Pass monthly exports reached their highest level in May with 18 cargoes leaving the facility. The plant also shipped 15 cargoes of the fuel in June.
