Uljanik has completed installation of the cutter ladder for one of the world’s largest cutter suction dredgers, the self-propelled vessel the Croatian shipbuilder is currently constructing for Jan De Nul Group.
According to the official announcement, cutter ladder is equipped with two main lines, dredge pump line and cutter line. The underwater dredge pump of 8500 kW is powered by two motors of 4250 kW over the gearbox and is forming the dredge pump line.
The new CSD will be approximately 50% more powerful than the J.F.J. De Nul, currently the largest cutter suction dredger in the JDN’s fleet.
Two additional motors with a gearbox of almost 300 ton, which are connected to the cutter head over the shafts, are forming the cutter line which is used for dredge the sea soil.
The launching of this giant dredging vessel is set to take place at the end of August.
