MeyGen has passed 1 GWh exported to the grid, Tim Cornelius CEO of Atlantis and Chairman of MeyGen informed.

Two Andritz Hydro Hammerfest (AHH) tidal turbines are generating clean energy to the UK grid at the MeyGen site.

The turbines were recently reinstalled at the MeyGen tidal array site in the Pentland Firth, off Scotland, following system enhancements conducted earlier this year.

Each turbine is 1.5MW in capacity, and according to Atlantis, it is expected the Phase 1A of the project will be operating autonomously at full capacity by the end of the third quarter in 2017.
