A consortium comprising DIF, Multiplex, Compass Group and Brookfield Financial has been contracted to build and manage a new Karratha workers accommodation facility for Australian LNG player Woodside.

The facility will be constructed on the site of the existing Bay Village in Karratha, Multiplex said.

Multiplex will construct the facility, with Compass Group appointed to manage it for 15 years. DIF is the project investor and manager and Brookfield Financial is the financial advisor.

The contract value for the initial 15-year term is approximately A$400 million ($315.3 million), with additional 15-year extension options.

Construction is anticipated to begin in February 2018, once the State of Western Australia has executed a lease with the consortium and development approvals are achieved. It is anticipated that the facility will be fully operational in February 2019.
