Machinemonitor, part of the MM Group of companies, has been contracted to provide high-voltage electrical testing services for the Inpex-led Ichthys LNG project.
The Australian electrical engineer has secured a contract for three years with a four-year extension option, the company said in its statement.
Under the contract, Machinemonitor will provide electrical testing services across all major assets in the project, the floating, storage, production and offloading vessels (FPSO), central processing facility (CPF) and onshore LNG facilities.
The electrical testing scope of work includes a range of high-voltage tests such as partial discharge and tan delta tests across motors, generators, cables and switchgear as well as transformer oil analysis and thermography surveys on static equipment.
MM Group also said it will provide repair management services, engineering consulting and training.
During the commissioning phase, the company will conduct a baseline health assessment across all assets with an ongoing condition monitoring program to follow as the plant transitions into the operational phase.
The Ichthys project is expected to produce 8.9 million tons of LNG and 1.6 million tons of LPG each year, along with more than 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
The project is a joint venture between Inpex, major partner Total, Taiwan’s CPC Corporation and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.
