US LNG engineer, Chart Industries, in collaboration with Ground Force Worldwide (GFW) launched the first dual LNG-diesel fueling truck.

According to a Chart statement, the truck was built for a large rock quarry customer in Florida that is using the vehicle as a fueling solution for its recently converted fleet of haul trucks, which were retrofitted with LNG conversions.

The truck was originally developed as the delivery solution for packaged atmospheric gasses.

Chart noted that the partnership is observing increased interest in LNG from the mining sector as well as the truck manufacturers that are looking to develop LNG and LNG/diesel hybrid haulers.

The joint project allowed Chart and GFW to gather information from the field with the quarry reporting a 50 percent increase in fueling speed.
