Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto is looking for test facility and test personnel for a combined test of subsystem components of its Deep Green tidal technology.

Namely, in a speculative notice issued on Welsh government’s procurement portal Sell2Wales, Minesto said it is looking for test facilities capable of combined power take-off (PTO) and micro-grid system (MGS) testing as part of its 500kW Deep Green tidal project.

The tests are planned to be conducted in the fourth quarter of 2017, the notice states.

Based on the responses to the speculative notice, Minesto said it may issue an Invitation to Tender (ITT) to all potential suppliers, or issue a contract notice on the portal.

The deadline to submit responses is set for August 23, 2017.

As reported earlier, Minesto originally planned to deploy its 500kW Deep Green tidal plant off Wales later this year, but the company decided to postpone the deployment to 2018 to ensure enough delivery time for the plant’s new foundation.
