BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT) announced first gas from the Juniper development, the fifth of BP’s seven upstream major project start-ups planned for 2017.
The project is expected to boost BPTT’s gas production capacity by an estimated 590 million standard cubic feet a day (mmscfd).
With an investment of approximately USD 2 billion, Juniper is BP’s first subsea field development in Trinidad.
DOF Subsea has been awarded a contract for Skandi Constructor for Siemens on the Galloper offshore wind farm project in the North Sea.
The contract ensures that the vessel is utilized until the end of the year, the Oslo-listed company noted.
Siemens is to supply, install and commission 56 wind turbines for the Galloper wind farm project.
Bluestream has been awarded the inspection, repair and maintenance contract with Total E&P Nederland for 36 offshore sites.
The contract is part of a long term frame agreement that has been in place since 2009.
The work scope covers the subsea inspection of 29 platform structures and seven free standing domes on the North Sea Dutch Continental Shelf.
Royal Boskalis Westminster has acquired all shares of the Gardline Group (Gardline).
With the acquisition Boskalis fulfils its strategic ambition to build a position in the offshore survey market and becomes a specialist provider of subsea geotechnical surveys with an exposure to the renewables market and the early cyclical oil and gas market, the company explained.
Subsea 7 and Flumill have signed a letter of intent to collaborate on the development and design of marine tidal technology.
Flumill is an Arendal-based company in Norway that has developed a patented-concept based on rotating helixes for production of electric power from tidal water. The company has completed several scale tests of the concept, and the technology is said to have gained considerable international interest.
