International law firm King & Spalding said it represented Japanese conglomerate Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) on its recent deal with Swan LNG for an import terminal to be developed in Gujarat, India.
The LNG terminal will have a receiving capacity of 5 million mt per year and utilise a dual floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) and floating storage unit (FSU) solution.
This is expected to be India’s first newbuilding FSRU project.
The FSRU tank capacity will be 180,000 cbm and the FSU tank capacity will be 135,000 cbm – 145,000 cbm.
MOL has agreed to provide the FSU and the long-term operation and maintenance of both the FSU and the FSRU, which will be constructed by South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The Singapore-based King & Spalding team advising MOL is led by projects and energy partner Richard Nelson and also includes associates Kristian Whitaker, Christophe Vauthier and Ji Nin Loh.
