France’s Dunkirk LNG import terminal, the country’s fourth regasification facility, is to receive a rare cargo of liquefied natural gas.
According to the shipping data by the port of Dunkirk, LNG tanker Arctic Lady, owned by Höegh LNG and chartered by France’s Total, is expected to arrive at the Dunkirk terminal on September 19.
The 148,000-cbm LNG carrier loaded a cargo at Statoil’s Hammerfest liquefaction plant earlier this week and is currently on its way to Dunkirk.
The Dunkirk LNG terminal with a regasification capacity of 13 billion cubic meters per year started commercial operations on January 1.
Inventory data by the operator, Dunkerque LNG, shows that the import terminal did not receive any cargoes since May this year when it took a delivery also from Norway aboard the Meridian Spirit.
This was the terminal’s fifth commercial delivery since start-up.
Dunkerque LNG is 65 percent owned by France’s EDF, 25 percent by Belgium’s Fluxys and 10 percent by French Total.
