SAL Heavy Lift said it has decided to close its subsidiary SAL Offshore B.V. focused on developing and delivering offshore installation solutions for the oil & gas and renewables sectors.

According to the company, the change in strategy and closure of the office in Delft, The Netherlands was due to the challenging times in the offshore market facing significant reductions in projects worldwide.

However, the company said that the closure of the SAL Offshore B.V. office in Delft, does not spell the end for SAL in the offshore markets. SAL will continue to offer offshore installation services with its DP2 vessel MV Lone and/or other vessels based on scope and opportunity.

In future, all offshore activities of SAL will be handled by its Marine Projects team within our office in Hamburg.

SAL will continue with its presence in The Netherlands. An office focusing on shipping activities will be established in Rotterdam.
