TE SubCom, a TE Connectivity company, has launched a new global network operations center (NOC) solution designed to provide cable operators with a single source for fault, configuration, alarm, performance, security and maintenance network management.

SubCom’s primary and secondary NOC solutions are vendor-neutral and able to conform to customer requirements, integrating seamlessly into operational flow, the company explained.

SubCom’s NOC solution has already been selected for the Monet submarine cable, a 10,556 km cable that is owned and operated by Algar Telecom, Angola Cables, ANTEL and Google.

In the U.S., this new 6-fiber-pair cable system was landed at Boca Raton, and, once the system is live, neighboring cable systems will extend Monet’s capacity beyond Miami to other North American locations. In Brazil, Monet was landed in Fortaleza and Praia Grande near Sao Paulo for distribution of traffic into South America.

“With the ongoing surge in undersea cable investment, more operators are searching for reliable network operations services. They’re finding they need providers that truly understand undersea networks and how to optimize their life cycles,” said Don Rotunno , managing director, sales operations, TE SubCom.

“Undersea communications is SubCom’s business and the expertise we’ve amassed over decades in the industry will immediately benefit users of our new NOC solution. Cable owners should have assurance that their networks are healthy and maintained, and SubCom is the ideal organization to provide that peace of mind.”
