Finnish technology group Wärtsilä has booked an order to deliver power generating equipment for a 48 MW power plant in Indonesia.
The plant, to be operated by the state-owned utility PT PLN, will operate with five Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines running on diesel fuel initially but will switch to gas when the local gas supply infrastructure is sufficiently developed.
The contract has been signed with Norway-based Jacobsen Elektro.
The plant is expected to be operational by November 2018, and the Wärtsilä engines are scheduled for delivery in the beginning of the year.
When this plant is completed, Wärtsilä engines will be producing more than 4300 MW of electrical output in Indonesia.
