The Netherlands will have to wait a bit longer for its second cargo from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction plant in Louisiana, currently the only such a facility to ship US shale gas overseas.
To remind, LNG World News reported on September 14 that the 173,400-cbm Ribera Del Duero Knutsen was scheduled to deliver a Sabine Pass cargo to the Dutch Gate terminal in the port of Rotterdam around October 6.
This would have been the second LNG cargo produced from US shale gas to land in the Netherlands.
However, in the meantime, the vessel changed its course and is currently on its way to deliver the cargo to Brazil, according to the marine data provider, VesselsValue.
The vessel loaded a cargo at Sabine Pass and left the liquefaction facility on September 14.
Gate terminal, owned by Gasunie and Vopak, received its first US LNG cargo on June 8 aboard the 140,000-cbm Arctic Discoverer.
This was also the first ever cargo of US LNG to land in Northwest Europe.
