Okra Energy said it has installed Peru’s first small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility to support increasing energy demands of the industry in the country’s remote areas.
The company, through its unit Lantera Energy, is looking to meet the supply needs of industrial manufacturers and power generators as well as the marine, mining, rail, trucking, and tourism industries.
The majority of the new facility’s supply of LNG in northern Peru is already pre-sold to a steel manufacturer, with the balance under contract for delivery in early 2018, Okra Energy said.
Subsequent small-scale LNG facilities are currently under contract negotiation.
Speaking of the new facility, Louis Ravenet , Okra Energy’s CEO said, the new virtual pipeline will provide natural gas energy where it was inaccessible before.
