The MET-CERTIFIED project has organized a workshop on marine energy certification and standardization as a side event of the upcoming Ocean Energy Europe Conference & Exhibition.

The workshop is designed to actively involve all stakeholders around certification, from banks and insurers to consenting authorities, technology developers, test facilities and certification bodies.

During the workshop, experts will explain the system that is under development under the umbrella of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

The MET-CERTIFIED project has invited stakeholders to share their expectations and needs from the system.

The project aims to increase the adoption of insurable and therefore bankable marine energy projects in the 2 SEAS region, which covers England, France, the Netherlands and Belgium, through the development of internationally recognized standards and certification schemes in the sector.

MET-CERTIFIED is funded by the European Interreg 2 Seas program and co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development (ERFD).

Also, the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands, Province of South-Holland and North-Holland and the Belgian Province of West Flanders are offering financial support.

The free-to-attend workshop requires registration and will be held on October 24, 2017 in Nantes, France.
