The dredging vessel, which suffered an explosion two nautical miles South of Dodman Point, Cornwall on October 4, is being towed into harbour, UK Coast Guard informed.

Following the incident, in which two people were injured, Fowey All Weather Lifeboat established a tow with the dredging ship. The coast guard added that a Falmouth Lifeboat would assist with the operation after taking the third uninjured man to shore.

At the time, the affected vessel was still sea worthy and was not a fire risk, the officials informed.

Both casualties were airlifted to Derriford Hospital and one casualty was reported to be in a serious condition, although not thought to be life-threatening.

It is believed that the incident was cause by an explosion of the compressed air cylinder aboard the vessel.

The Newquay Coastguard helicopter and the Falmouth RNLI Lifeboat evacuated the casualties to Derriford Hospital.
