Osbit MaXccess T12 System Reaches China’s Binhai OWFs

Osbit has secured a contract for the delivery of its MaXccess T12 crew-transfer ‘walk-to-work’ access system for a vessel that will be deployed at Binhai offshore wind farms in China, developed by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).

Osbit has secured a contract for the delivery of its MaXccess T12 crew-transfer ‘walk-to-work’ access system for a vessel that will be deployed at Binhai offshore wind farms in China, developed by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC).

The UK company informed that it had produced an improved MaXccess T12 system to be installed on a 20-metre crew transfer vessel (CTV), which is currently under construction by the Aurora Yachts shipyard in Dalian, China.

Fabricated at Osbit’s North East facility at Port of Blyth, the T12 will be transported to the Dalian shipyard where it will be installed and commissioned on the vessel with the support of a team of Osbit engineers.

This project follows on from Osbit’s previous activity in South East Asia’s offshore renewables market, which includes the deployment of one of its T18 MaXccess systems that has been operating at the Fukushima offshore wind farm in Japan for the past three years, the company stated.

Ben Webster , Sales and Marketing Manager at Osbit, said: “China and South East Asia is experiencing a growth in offshore renewables activity and this project is an important step for Osbit as we build on our track-record for the delivery of innovative and reliable access systems in the international offshore wind sector. ”

SPIC’s Binhai offshore wind farms include the operational 100MW Binhai North H1 and the 400MW Binhai North H2, currently under construction. Both offshore wind farms are featuring Siemens 4MW offshore wind turbines.
