Gas4Sea partnership has been selected by Statoil to be the latter’s LNG marine fuel supplier in the Dutch port of Rotterdam for four crude shuttle tankers.

The four planned dual fuel vessels are to come into service in early 2020, and they will be operated by Norway’s Statoil in Northern European seas.

Gas4Sea will supply LNG using the Engie Zeebrugge bunkering vessel, which started operations earlier this year and is currently performing regular ship-to-ship LNG bunkering services in the port of Zeebrugge, in Belgium.

LNG bunkering vessel Engie Zeebrugge has a 5,000 cubic meter capacity and is designed to serve the shipping industry, in Zeebrugge as well as neighboring ports.

Gas4Sea partnership was launched in September last year by France’s Engie and its Japanese partners Mitsubishi Corporation and NYK Line. Fluxys Belgium, the operator of the Zeebrugge LNG terminal acquired a 25 percent stake in the vessel in October 2015.
