Höegh LNG’s FSRU Independence performed the 40th ship-to-ship transfer since it started operating as Lithuania’s liquefied natural gas import terminal.

The terminal operator, Klaipedos Nafta said that Shell’s small-scale LNG bunkering vessel Cardissa arrived at the port of Klaipeda on Monday to load a cargo for delivery to Lietuvos dujų tiekimas.

The loading of 6,300 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas to the bunkering vessel will also be the fourth small-scale LNG reloading operation.

Last time the bunker vessel Cardissa visited the port of Klaipėda in mid-September and delivered the cargo of approximately 1000 meters of LNG required for the works of launch and adjustment of the Klaipedos Nafta LNG distribution station.

Klaipedos Nafta’s CEO Mindaugas Jusius said that “since the end of 2014 Klaipėda LNG terminal has provided Baltic consumers with over 28 billion kWh, or 28 TWh, of natural gas.”

The small-scale reloading operations began with the start of 2017, with cargoes from Klaipėda landing at Scandinavian LNG terminals, he said.
