AW-Energy is seeking to appoint a Vice President (VP) of Business Development, and a Mechanical Technical Manager who will help the company drive forward the development and commercialization of WaveRoller wave energy device.

AW-Energy is seeking to appoint a Vice President (VP) of Business Development, and a Mechanical Technical Manager who will help the company drive forward the development and commercialization of WaveRoller wave energy device.

Finnish wave energy developer AW-Energy said the role of VP of Business Development entails taking charge of the companys sales, with both strategic planning and organization as well as practical implementation and customer interface.

Reporting to the CEO, VP of Business Development will also be tasked with establishing and expanding relationships with potential international customers, including energy companies, corporate power companies, IPPs, and local municipalities.

The Mechanical Technical Manager for AW-Energy will be entrusted the responsibility of overseeing the mechanical systems from design to manufacture, the company said.

Also, the post involves developing the whole process to improve the product and its manufacturability and reducing product cost and process cycle time.

The deadline to apply for either of the positions is set for October 29, 2017.

AW-Energy’s flagship product, the WaveRoller, is a submerged wave energy converter based on a hinged panel that is attached to the sea bed in the near shore area.

It generates electricity from the movement of the waves and is connected to the electric grid onshore.

Currently, AW-Energy is working on multi-million euro commercial projects with customers and has a pipeline with ongoing development in 6 countries on 4 continents.

AW-Energy has also recently signed a global co-operation agreement with the technology group Wärtsilä covering sales and delivery of WaveRoller on a turn-key EPC basis across the project life-cycle.
