Swedish tidal energy developer Minesto has completed the procurement of an onshore and offshore communication system for its Deep Green tidal energy project.
ITS Technology Group, a provider of network infrastructure, microwave links, connectivity and managed services, has been chosen as supplier.
The awarded contract includes the detail design and construction of the IT & communication system that will be used for communication between the various sites used during installation and operation of Minesto’s first device in Holyhead Deep.
The system will require inclusion of offshore and onshore services, system and hardware deliverables to facilitate communication between the Holyhead Deep site that will initially be conducted through a micro grid system buoy, the vessels used as part of core operations offshore and Minesto’s offices in Holyhead.
Minesto plans to deploy the 500kW Deep Green tidal power plant off North Wales in 2018.
