APPA Marina president joins OEE board

Francisco García Lorenzo, president of APPA Marina, part of Spanish industry group for renewable energy Asociación de Empresas de Energías Renovables (APPA), has joined the board of Ocean Energy Europe.

Francisco García Lorenzo, president of APPA Marina, part of Spanish industry group for renewable energy Asociación de Empresas de Energías Renovables (APPA), has joined the board of Ocean Energy Europe.

APPA said the appointment of García Lorenzo is part of a strategy to improve the international positioning of the Spanish ocean renewables sector, enhance participation in decision-making and communication with European institutions.

García Lorenzo said: “Ocean energies have the potential to supply 20% of the electricity consumption in Spain, and our industry has demonstrated technological capacity to make this a reality. To achieve this, we need a clear and decisive energy / technological strategy led by the government of Spain and the main players in the innovation sector.”

Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) is a Brussels-based organization that acts as the main link between Europe’s ocean energy industry and the EU institutions, and EU Member States, with the aim of accelerating the development of ocean energy sector.
