A new world record has been set for a single vessel port call as a total of 24,846 TEUs was loaded off and back on the Maersk Evora at the Port of Los Angeles earlier this month, according to Danish shipping giant Maersk.

The 13,492 TEU ship arrived at the port on October 17 and departed on October 22, data from Maersk Line indicates.

Maersk Evora was serviced by the newly raised cranes, said to be the tallest in North America, at APM Terminals Pier 400.

The Port of Los Angeles said that the ship came into APMT fully loaded with nine containers above deck, the first for any US port.

Built at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard in 2011, the Neo-Panamax containership features a length of 366 meters and a width of 48.2 meters.

The Denmark-flagged ship currently has a market value of USD 62.53 million, data provided by VesselsValue shows.
