Minesto has awarded a framework agreement to Holyhead Towing and Leask Marine to provide general support services for marine operations for its tidal energy project.
The companies will support the supply of vessels and marine equipment for Minesto’s DG500 tidal energy project in Holyhead Deep, Wales.
The framework agreement will also be used to support Minesto in the supply of vessels and equipment for marine operation trials such as development and testing of the of the Launch and Recovery System, as well as other general operational support.
Minesto is developing the €30 million underwater kite project which will be installed in Holyhead Deep, 6.5 km off the coast of Anglesey.
The company is seeking to, in the long term, generate 80MW at the site, enough to power 70,000 homes.
