Air Liquide Engineering and Construction, part of Air Liquide group secured a contract with Kinetrex Energy to upgrade their North plant LNG production unit in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Under the agreement, Air Liquide will replace the cold box with its proprietary single mixed-refrigerant technology for small- to medium-scale plants, enabling Kinetrex Energy to boost the plant’s capacity.

The upgraded LNG plant is expected to start operation by the end of 2018, Air Liquide said.

As a wholesale supplier of LNG, Kinetrex sources the gas directly from interstate pipelines, converts up to 200,000 gallons of liquefied gas per day and stores more than 24,000,000 gallons at its two liquefaction plants.
