The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) is seeking electrical and performance test engineers who would assist the Orkney-based facility in wave and tidal energy testing activities.

EMEC is looking to hire a Senior Electrical & Performance Test Engineer who will work to ensure that EMEC’s electrical systems meet client’s requirements and are operated to relevant standards in a safe and efficient manner.

The position entails working closely with clients, participating in technology design reviews and delivering power performance assessments of wave and tidal energy technologies.

The successful candidate will manage the operation of EMEC’s electrical systems, ensuring availability of HV electrical connections and a range of electrical measurement equipment.

Furthermore, EMEC is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer who will be in charge of providing first line electrical support and assistance of EMEC’s HV and LV systems including client’s electrical connections, and acquisition and reporting of electrical performance data.

The role also involves providing support the provision of EMEC’s testing infrastructure, and carrying out maintenance on the center’s facilities and equipment.

The deadline to apply for either position has been set for November 22, 2017.
