Liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes at Lithuania’s first and only import terminal in the port of Klaipeda jumped in October compared to the same month last year.

The Klaipeda LNG import terminal regasified 1.03 terawatt hours (TWh) during the month of October, compared to 631 megawatt hours (MWh) during the corresponding month in 2016, representing a 63.9 percent rise.

For the ten-month period, the company regassified 11.66 TWh of liquefied natural gas and supplied it to the Lithuanian natural gas transmission system. Compared to the 12.85 TWh in the corresponding period in 2016, this represents a 9.3 percent slide.

Deliveries to Lithuania’s LNG terminal are being split between Litgas, a part of state-controlled energy group Lietuvos Energija, Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas, and Lithuanian fertilizer producer Achema.

Revenues coming from regas and reloading activities from Höegh LNG’s FSRU Independence used as Lithuania’s first import terminal in Klaipeda edged up to 5.5 million euros ($6.38 million) in October 2017.

In the 10-month period, revenues rose 2.1 percent to 57.2 million euros, the data shows.
