Singapore-based gas shipping giant BW recently held a naming ceremony for the company’s two MEGI LNG carriers.

The naming ceremony for the M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection (MEGI) LNG vessels took place at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering shipyard in South Korea.

The 173.400-cbm LNG carriers named BW Tulip and BW Lilac are the first two-stroke propulsion vessels in the shipping company’s fleet, BW LNG noted on Monday in a brief statement through its social media channels.

The two vessels, ordered back in September 2014, are expected to be delivered to its owner by the end of this year and the next year, according to BW’s website.

To remind, DSME said in August last year that the contract price of the duo had been reduced from 429.7 billion Korean won to 427.8 billion Korean won ($382m).
