The FLNG Hilli Episeyo, the world’s first FLNG conversion, departed Singapore in October and set sail for its location offshore Kribi, Cameroon.

The Rotterdam-based offshore towage specialist ALP, posted an image on Monday showing the vessel rounding Cape of Good Hope, being towed by the ALP Striker.

After the vessel completes its 8000 nautical mile journey to Cameroon, the ALP Striker will assist with the installation of the FLNG unit on site.

The journey is expected to last between 32 and 40 days in total, Golar LNG said earlier.

The FLNG was converted from a 1975 built Moss LNG carrier with a storage capacity of 125,000 cubic meters, by Keppel for LNG shipper Golar.

The Hilli Episeyo is designed for a liquefaction capacity of about 2.4 million tons of LNG per annum and will be put in operation offshore Kribi, Cameroon for Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures and Perenco Cameroon.
