The Ulstein SX195 hull of Acta Marine’s new walk-to-work (W2W) vessel Acta Auriga has arrived from Crist shipyard in Poland to Ulstein Verft in Norway, where the vessel will be outfitted, commissioned and tested before joining Acta Marine’s fleet.
The hull is now in Ulstein Verft’s sheltered dry-dock and the company will soon commence the outfitting and completing of the vessel, including the installation of SMST motion compensated gangway and 3D crane.
The W2W construction support vessel (CSV) is measuring 93.4 metres in length and is 18 metres wide, and can accommodate up to 120 people in 80 cabins.
Acta Marine intends to use the vessel on offshore wind construction projects , as well as decommissioning and oil and gas services.
Delivery of Acta Auriga is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2018, when it will join its semi-sister vessel Acta Orion , which was last reported to be supporting Siemens Gamesa at the Race Bank offshore wind farm in the UK and was scheduled to complete its contract around mid-November.
