Norway’s Aker Solutions has secured contracts to supply umbilicals for three field developments offshore Norway. All the fields, Johan Sverdrup, Utgard, and Bauge, are operated by Statoil.

The order entails delivery of more than 40 kilometers in total of subsea umbilicals. It will be booked in the fourth quarter.

“By combining the delivery for three separate projects into one order, we are able to boost efficiency and reduce costs for the customer,” said Luis Araujo , Aker Solutions’ chief executive officer. “We look forward to working with Statoil on these important oil and gas developments.”

Manufacturing will take place at Aker Solutions’ umbilicals plant in Moss, Norway. Aker Solutions did not reveal the financial details of the order.

For comparison, almost exactly a month ago, on October 20 , Aker Solutions said it had won an order valued at more than NOK 1.6 billion to deliver the largest umbilicals system ever.

The contract entails delivery of 250 kilometers of steel-tube umbilicals linking a subsea development to an existing offshore platform. The company did not reveal the name of the client. The record umbilical will be manufactured in Moss, Norway, too.
