OLT Offshore LNG Toscana has closed its tender for the supply of a single liquefied natural gas cargo for peak shaving services during the coming winter season.

OLT Offshore said that it had received six bids for the tender issued on November 7, however, the company declined to name the selected winner.

The company that has been awarded the service will provide Snam Rete Gas with a quantity of approximately 110.000 cubic meters of LNG. An additional volume, equal to 15.000 cubic meters, has been purchased by OLT for the operational requirement of the terminal.

According to the initial tender documents, the cargo will be delivered to the terminal between December 1 and December 31. The volumes delivered will be made available to Snam Rete Gas from January 1 to March 31, 2018.

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana set up by Iren Group (49.07 percent), Uniper (48.24 percent) and Golar LNG (2.69 percent), owns and manages the floating regasification terminal FSRU Toscana.

The terminal, moored about 22 km off the coasts between Livorno and Pisa, is connected to the national grid through a 36.5 km long pipeline, operated and managed by Snam Rete Gas.

At full capacity, the terminal has a regasification capacity of 3.75 billion cubic meters a year, about 4 percent of the national gas consumption.
