Russian gas giant Gazprom said on Wednesday it had resumed natural gas supplies to Azerbaijan.
Gazprom Export, a unit of Gazprom, and the Azeri state energy firm SOCAR reached an agreement under which gas supplies were to start on November 22, according to a Gazprom statement.
Gazprom will deliver a total of 1.6 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to Azerbaijan under contract.
“We have a long history of partnership with Azerbaijan in the field of natural gas trading. It is encouraging to see this relationship flourish and move to the next level,” said Elena Burmistrova , Director General of Gazprom Export.
