Cornish tidal energy start-up Inyanga-Tech has launched a tender for a contractor who would assist it with a concept and feasibility study on a novel invention for harnessing tidal energy.
Inyanga-Tech is looking to hire an experienced Marine Design Consultant with background in operational and design support in tidal energy projects.
The company is undertaking a concept and feasibility study which includes a techno-economic analysis of the innovation in the context of a commercial array to assess and challenge the effectiveness of the design process.
The focus of the project is on a 30MW array but optimization towards 100MW and 200MW commercial arrays will also be considered with a view to techno-economic scaling, it is stated on the UK government’s contracts procurement services site.
The deadline for expressions of interest has been set for December 9, while the submissions of tenders are due by December 20, 2017.
The budget for the concept and feasibility study is £65,000, which is expected to last for six months, starting from January 4, 2018.
Inyanga-Tech, incorporated in March 2017, is developing new methodology for the exploitation of tidal energy on a commercial scale with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction.
